How to Throw a Big Party With Small Budget

You don’t need a large budget to throw a large party. You can impress your guests with a classy bash without burning a hole in your pocket. All it takes is a bit of creative thinking, whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, or a birthday party finding ways to reduce costs without reducing its grandiose appeal can make the night one never to be forgotten. Follow these simple steps on how to throw a large party on a small household budget.

Selecting a venue

Unless you have the space required to throw a large party, you are more than likely going to need a decent sized venue for your bash. Contact some of the locations that you are planning to rent and find out if they offer discounts for nights when it is less busy. Sundays and during the week are likely to be cheaper than on Friday and Saturday nights. If you have any rich friends, they might be kind enough to lend you their posh abode for the evening.

Choosing the music

You can cut the cost of hiring a DJ by doing it yourself. There are plenty of apps that allow you to make play lists. Make a long play list of all the songs that you think that your guests will like, attach your phone or your computer to a large speaker and you’ve got some thumping tunes for the night!

Cut down your guest list

The entire world doesn’t need to be at your party! Cut the list down to the most essential people, this way you will cut costs on food and drinks.

Food and drinks

This can be a really costly part of your party. Instead of hiring someone to cook for you, there are plenty of discount food stores where you can buy what you need in bulk. Instead of having an entire meal, cut your costs by serving finger foods instead. To cut the costs for your drinks, add the words “bring a bottle” to your invitation.

If you want to create a classy look for your party, hang up some little white lights around the venue. You can also fill some glass bowls of water and place some votive candles floating on the top. The most important thing about decorations is not to go over the top with them, too much can turn your classy idea into a trashy one.
