- AMP GO has introduced a new feature that will allow customers to verify whether a call from the bank is for real.
- The app will be updated in real time, and will display a message that tells you whether you're on with an employee, or when your last verified call was.
- It's one of several security features AMP GO has introduced with its pledge to prioritise "security over speed".
The 'Your Bank is Calling' tool will indicate whether or not you are on a call with AMP, updated in real time.
It's the latest of several safety features the bank has introduced, and it says it has prevented over 1,000 fraudulent or mule applications in the last six months.
AMP GO is the bank's digital arm, including transaction accounts and the online-only savings account AMP GO Save - currently the highest ongoing savings account rate AMP offers.
Director of AMP GO John Arnott said 'Your Bank is Calling' will allow customers to stop a scam before it starts.
"We're asking Australians to embrace these steps because they work," he said.

What customers should see if they are on a genuine call with AMP GO
How 'Your Bank is Calling' works
The new tool will always be available in the app and will display when the last, if at all, legitimate call from AMP was.
If you're cold called or even if you're given a number purportedly for a bank representative, you can immediately just log into the app to make sure the person you're speaking to is who they say they are.
With more than one in seven Australians falling victim to fraud in the 2023-24 financial year - and a quarter of all small businesses targeted - it could mean extra peace of mind for AMP customers.

AMP prioritises 'security over speed'
Mr Arnott believes since the threat from digital criminals is always evolving, security needs to be as well.
"AMP Bank GO is built with purposeful friction - smart security-first steps that protect customers and the community," he said.
It's notable for the 'selfie-video' customers need to record before they open an account, which it says has prevented over 1,000 fraudulent accounts being opened in the past six months.
One scammer even tried to open an account in Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's name using a fake ID.
AMP GO debit cards are also numberless which the bank says makes online card fraud "virtually impossible".
