Coinciding with its variable rate hike on 27 March, Commonwealth Bank, Australia’s largest lender, has also implemented a 30-basis point increase to its fixed home loans for both owner occupiers and investors.
NAB has likewise raised its fixed home loan rates by up to 35 basis points, taking effect on the same days its variable rate increase kicks in.
Fixed rate adjustments are broadening across the market amid higher funding costs and growing expectations of further RBA tightening.
Major economists expect the RBA board will deliver a follow-up rate hike when they convene in May, with inflation expected to accelerate in March as the effects of oil price shocks flow through the data.
Lenders moved swiftly to confirm they would pass on the latest RBA cash rate hike in full, with a portion of increases already in effect.
ANZ earlier adjusted its fixed home loan rates ahead of the RBA meeting.

Several savings account rates have also started edging higher in the days since the Reserve Bank lifted the cash rate to 4.10%.

CBA has applied a uniform 30-basis point increase across its fixed home loans for owner occupiers with loan-to-value ratio (LVR) up to 95%.
The changes affect both its basic fixed mortgage and its Wealth Package products, the latter offering interest rate discounts and banking benefits for a $395 annual fee.

NAB has lifted its fixed Tailored Home Loan rates for both owner‑occupiers and investors by up to 35 basis points.
The bank’s Tailored Home Loan range includes an $8 monthly service fee and no application fee, and offers features such as loan splitting and the ability to make up to $20,000 in extra repayments each year.

Macquarie has implemented a broad round of interest rate increases across its fixed home loan products.
A uniform 35‑basis‑point hike, effective 27 March, applies to both its basic fixed and offset fixed loans for owner occupiers and investors.
Following the change, owner occupiers with an 80% LVR fixing for one year will now pay 6.49% p.a. (comparison rate 5.75% p.a.) .
By contrast, the bank’s lowest available variable rate is currently 5.59% p.a. (comparison rate 5.61% p.a.) .

ING increased fixed home loans by up to 45 basis points
Earlier this week, ING also increased its fixed home loan rates for both owner‑occupiers and investors.
The bank’s Residential Fixed one‑year loan at 80% LVR (principal and interest) has risen by 45 basis points to 6.29% p.a. (comparison rate 5.96% p.a.).
The equivalent Orange Advantage fixed rate received the same increase, lifting it to 6.19% p.a. (comparison rate 5.95% p.a.).
In addition to home loan rate adjustment, ING also announced changes to how customers of its Savings Accelerator savings account earn interest.
From 1 May, the bank will replace the existing tiered interest system with a stepped interest structure.
Customer-owned banks hike fixed home loan rates
A handful of member-owned banks have also lifted fixed mortgage rates this week.
Newcastle Permanent has introduced a 10‑basis‑point increase to its fixed home loans, with its Premium Plus Package Residential Fixed two‑year rate now at 5.79% p.a. (comparison rate 7.52% p.a.) .
People’s Choice has raised fixed rates across its Residential, Investment and First Home Buyer loans by up to 25 basis points.
Its First Home Buyer three‑year fixed loan at 80% LVR is now at 6.04% p.a. (comparison rate 5.92% p.a.) .
Great Southern Bank has also increased its fixed home loans by as much as 30 basis points, taking the rate on its residential one‑year fixed loan at 95% LVR to 6.35% p.a. (comparison rate 7.66% p.a.) .
