Customers with Humm will now be able to use the platform for payments in stores including Myer, Strandbags, IKEA, Solomon’s Carpets and hundreds of health clinics.
What is Humm?
Humm is a payments platform that allows shoppers to make “interest free” purchases of up to $30,000 through the platform to be repaid in “slices”.
Having provided buy now pay later services in Australia and New Zealand for over two decades, Flexigroup launched Humm earlier this year after merging its “legacy” platforms Certegy EziPay and OxiPay in a bid to rival dominant newcomers Afterpay and Zip.
Flexigroup CEO Rebecca James said the company has a strong reputation for innovating to meet changing consumer demand.
“Consumers are demanding to have greater control over their finances, and humm gives them the ability to finance the little things and the big things in a way that helps with affordability and managing their household budget,” Ms James said.
Costs of using Humm
While it doesn’t charge interest, Humm – like Afterpay and Zip – does have a number of different fees.
The occurrence of Humm’s fees largely depends on the size of the purchase and the length of time the repayments are spread out over.

Purchases of up to $2,000 can be fee-free if repaid on time within five fortnights.
This rivals AfterPay’s offering, which requires purchases to be repaid within four fortnights.
Following the addition of the new retailers, plus the migration of the existing partners and customers from its older platforms, Flexigroup reports Humm is now available in over 13,000 seller locations in Australia.
The migration also means the platform now boasts over one million customers and makes up a 17% market share of buy now, pay later transaction volume in Australia.
Ms James said the range of merchants added reflects an appetite for more flexible buy now, pay later solutions.
“With humm, customers can handle the ‘little things’ worth up to $2,000, repaid over 2.5 or 5 months and the ‘big things’ worth over $2,000, repaid over 6-60 months, quickly and easily, from the same app – an Australian first,” she said.
“The addition of these leading brands across our target verticals reinforces the strength of Humm’s offering – bringing new growth opportunities to retailers and delivering a unique and compelling user experience direct to consumers.”
