What new features does ANZ Plus offer?

Revamping its digital banking service, ANZ Plus will now include BPay, PayID and instant access to a digital card.

ANZ Plus will also include a new dynamic card verification value (CVV), providing customers with an extra layer of fraud protection when shopping either online or over the phone.

The extra security feature provides a digital alternative to the static three-digit number on the back of a payment card with a code that automatically updates every 12 hours within the ANZ Plus app.

A recent report from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) revealed $227 million was lost to payment redirection scams in 2021.

ANZ Plus was launched back in March, offering customers savings and transaction accounts coupled with smart, digital money management tools.

ANZ recently followed the lead of the RBA for July, passing on a 50 basis point increase to ANZ Plus savings accounts increasing the rate to 2.00% p.a. for balances under $250,000.

No conditions, such as minimum balance or transactions, need to be met to attain the rate.

The 2.00% p.a. savings rate on offer for ANZ Plus customers with no age restrictions is currently one of the most competitive interest rates offered from the major banks.

The list of new ANZ Plus features and functional inclusions are:

  • BPAY - Pay bills using BPAY.
  • PayID - ANZ Plus customers can send payments to a PayID such as a mobile number, email address or ABN.
  • Add digital card to Apple Wallet immediately - Customers can instantly set up digital card when joining ANZ Plus.
  • Dynamic CVV - Provides a digital alternative to the static three-digit number on the back of the ANZ Plus card.
  • Query a transaction - ANZ Plus customers can dispute all available transaction types via the self-service option.
  • Age to join reduced to 15 years - ANZ Plus customers can begin learning how to manage their money and save earlier.
  • Card-less cash - ANZ Plus customers can securely withdraw cash from an ATM without their card.

ANZ Managing Director Design and Delivery ANZx Peter Dalton said these upgrades were amongst the most requested features from customers.

"Our enhanced retail banking platform, is allowing us to respond quickly to customer feedback and rapidly deliver new features to give people greater visibility and control of their finances, with much more due for delivery in the coming months," Mr Dalton said.
